Travel chaos

A NEW traffic system caused chaos to motorists.  The plan, conceived by the Transport and Road Research Laboratory and an American business consultant, allowed drivers to travel "as the crow flies".  The consultant, Mr Howard Zzing, from California, said: "It is important that road users be empowered, and create their own travel solutions, rather than be hindered by outdated corporate dogma, such as ‘The Highway Code’".  12 people were killed.

Pensioner blooming impressed by police

A PENSIONER thanked police for sending her flowers while she was in hospital.  Mrs Doris Tanner (82) had been attacked by thugs in one of Bracknell’s most popular underpasses.  "The police have been wonderful!" exclaimed Mrs Tanner from her hospital bed.  The thugs had yet to be caught.  They were described as white, medium height, and wore black trousers, and black jackets with white stripes on the arms.  They also wore black, domed helmets.  The inquiry continued.
